Red Sauce Pasta

 



Pasta is a staple food of Italian cuisine. Red sauce pasta is a dish made with pasta, tomatoes, Capsicum, onions, ginger, garlic and herbs. It is kid’s friendly and also healthy & delicious

Red sauce pasta can easily be made at home as it is entirely made from tomato which gives tangy flavor to the dish

Ingredients-

·       Macaroni (pasta)- 200 gm

·       Water as required

·       Red Tomatoes- 8-10

·       Oil + Ghee- 2 tbsp each

·       Chopped Onions- 1 cup

·       Chopped Garlic cloves- 2 tbsp

·       Ginger paste- 1 tbsp

·       Salt as required

·       Red chili powder- 1 tbsp

·       Tomato ketchup- 2 tbsp

·       Pizza seasoning- 1 tbsp

·       Knorr pizza pasta sauce- 2 tbsp

·       Mozzarella cheese- 4-5 tbsp


Method-

·   Heat 4 cups of water in a pan, add ½ tbsp oil and ½ tbsp salt in it
·   After it gets boiled add pasta and stir it
·     Cover the pan and let it cook for 5-7 mins. Macaroni should be al-dante
·     Switch off the flame and strain the macaroni with cold water. Pour ½ tbsp of oil on it and give it a toss. Keep it aside
·      Now heat 1 glass of water in a pan and add tomatoes. Cook it for 10 min by covering the lid (Give a slit on tomatoes so the skin gets removed easily)
·     Remove the tomatoes and let it cool. Remove the skin of tomatoes and mash it
·    Keep a pan on flame, add oil + ghee and let it get heated
·    Add chopped garlic and saute it
·    Now add chopped onions, ginger paste and stir it
·    Add mashed tomatoes to the mixture and mix it on medium flame
·   Add salt, tomato ketchup, pizza-pasta sauce and cook it for 5 mins
·   Now add boiled macaroni pasta into the pan and stir all the ingredients well upto 4-5 mins
·     Switch of the flame and remove the pasta into a serving plate

·     Garnish it with Pizza seasoning, Mozzarella cheese and basil leaves

 

Red Sauce Pasta is ready to serve 


Step by Step Recipe with Photo:

1. Heat 4 cups of water in a pan, add ½ tbsp oil and ½ tbsp salt in it.


2. After it gets boiled add pasta and stir it.

5. Remove the tomatoes and let it cool. Remove the skin of tomatoes and mash it


6. Keep a pan on flame, add oil + ghee and let it get heated
Add chopped garlic and saute it 
Now add chopped onions, ginger paste and stir it


7. Add mashed tomatoes to the mixture and mix it on medium flame
Add salt, tomato ketchup, pizza-pasta sauce and cook it for 5 mins.


8. Now add boiled macaroni pasta into the pan and stir all the ingredients well upto 4-5 mins


9. Switch of the flame and remove the pasta into a serving plate

Garnish it with Pizza seasoning, Mozzarella cheese and basil leaves



10. Red Sauce Pasta is ready to serve.
